LIGHTHOUSE MINISTRIES ~ BYLAWS
ARTICLE I
VISION, PURPOSES AND PREROGATIVES 1.01 The name of the church organization shall be Lighthouse Ministries. Its present location is at 16290 County Road 306, Buena Vista, CO 81211. 1.02 Right of Self-government. This church shall have the right to govern itself according to the standards of the New Testament scriptures, "endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. . . until we all come in unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:3-13 1.03 Prerogatives. This church shall implement its New Testament Christianity commissioned by the following prerogatives: a. To administer the regular ordinances defined in Article III of these bylaws; b. To establish and maintain such departments, institutions and services within the Fellowship for the propagation of the gospel and its work embraced by the purposes of this corporation; c. To examine candidates for the ministry, commission and ordain those who shall have been approved by the pastor and elders of this church according to standards set forth by the New Testament; d. To designate its own officers, to appoint committees, to arrange for its own meetings, and to govern itself in accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws herein and after defined; e. To establish and define policy by which it shall be governed; f. To take such other and further actions and prerogatives as may be necessary or appropriate to implement and operate its New Testament commission. 1.04 Statement of Vision, Mission and Purpose. a. Vision statement: Encouraging believers to come to maturity in Christ (Ephesians 4:12-16); b. Our Mission statement: "We, as faithful and obedient ambassadors, seek to reconcile people to God through the love of Christ in our message, and through our lives" (II Corinthians 5:14-21). c. Our Purpose statement: "Through ministry, helping people come to Jesus and membership in His family, encouraging them toward Christ-like maturity, and equipping them for their ministry in the church and life mission in the world, to magnify God's name. 1.05 Enumerated Purposes. This church shall be organized and operated exclusively for religious purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code of 1954, as amended, or any superseding section in order to, but not limited to: a. Minister the Word of God; b. Minister the Gifts of the Holy Spirit; c. Conduct regular religious worship services through various forms of ministries; d. Promote and encourage, through the ministries of the church, co-operation with other organizations ministering within the community; e. To conduct a local church by the direction of the Lord Jesus Christ and under the leadership of the Holy Spirit in accordance with all the provisions as set forth in the Holy Bible; f. To be a house of prayer; g. To maintain local church facilities; h. To conduct a school for the training of the saints to minister; i. To ordain qualified individuals; j. To provide Church School or any other types of schools for the religious and educational instruction of anyone under the direction of the church; k. To provide training for all aspects of leadership in the Body of Christ; l. To provide for missions and other outreach programs; m. To fulfill the call of the Lord Jesus Christ to care for one another by providing benevolence to those in need; and n. To undertake such other and further purposes as may be necessary to fulfill the calling of a New Testament Church called to co-labor with the Lord in the earth, His harvest field. |
